Ghosts
Ghosts
I have an idea what ghosts might be – smells!
Our sense of smell is the one of our 5 senses which tends to be forgotten. The nose speaks to our subconscious more than ears and eyes and is particularly good at evoking memories.
Odours can get trapped in a building for many years, often given off when the weather changes, depending on temperature, humidity and wind direction. Have you ever walked in a building which once caught fire? It could have been many years before, but you can still smell smoke as you enter it. You only need to breath a few particles to trigger something in your mind, together with a good imagination (which, from my experience, most people have).
My idea came from setting traps on a rat-run and the way rats learn to walk around the trap and not into it.
A rat-run is a route rats normally run on (try saying that quickly!) and if you want to set a trap for them, that’s where you put it. Rats don’t know what a trap is until they trigger it. Then, whether one is killed or not, all the other rats avoid it. But how? All the other rats couldn’t have seen the trap close. They can’t communicate well enough to tell the others. The only way can be is a scared rat gives off a smell, perhaps in it’s urine. The other rats sense the smell as danger and keep away.
Could it be possible that a human, when extremely scared (like about to be killed) could emit a smell in some way when frightened, perhaps through sweat?
Another point: There must be (or have been) a reason to see ghosts, otherwise we wouldn’t have evolved the ability to see them. Seeing them has helped us survive, so through evolution (survival-of-the-fittest etc), we have developed this sense. Kill a spider in the bath and another appears the next day only to die the same way. Kill or frighten a rat on a rat-run and all the others keep away from that spot. Surely us humans, far superior to other animals, would have a similar sense?

Circumcision
Circumcision
Circumcision is the removal of the foreskin from the penis.
In China they used to break girls toes, bend their feet double and bind their feet so they hobbled as they walked – now considered it mutilation.
I view circumcision as just as bad.
It is quite a different matter if it has to be done for medical reasons, but they amputate legs for medical reasons…
"If it ain’t broke, don’t fix it!"
I blame the authorities, the medical profession, not parents, for allowing such an operation. If someone wanted their childs’ arm cut off would the hospital do that? I don’t think so! In fact I’d prefer to lose a finger or two rather than have my you-know-what interfered with! Anything but that!
At school at I saw that all the guys in the shower were normal ‘down there’ and became fascinated that they were different from me. The trouble is that asking to look at another guys ‘bits’ at that age wasn’t easy, so the fascination can become an obcession.
Since then I’ve seen many guys masturbate and it is alot easier uncut (left natural) than cut (circumcised), especially when having someone else do it to them such as their girl/boy friend.
Whether circumcision is good or bad, I just want to know what it’s like to have a forskin. I know I would be a very different person if I hadn’t had it done.

Door Bells
Why is it that in the age of hi-fi’s, Hoovers, television and automatic washing machines, do houses have such quiet door bells? Often running on (often flat) batteries?
But years ago, before these noisy things which hide the sound of a quiet ding-dong chime, people had loud door bells (wired to mains transformer, not batteries which fun out), or big knockers on their doors?
My friend Jon P takes the micky out of me for liking old things, but he did say he likes big knockers…

Baby on Board
Does anyone know what the sticker in the back window of cars saying "Baby on Board" is for? Yes I know it means they have a baby in their car but why do I, as a driver following behind, need to know? I just don’t get it!
I did a search on the net for a ‘baby on board’ sticker image and found this website that is asking the same question!

Tunbridge Wells

A particular feature that I like in the town is a tree in the middle of an alleyway amongst shops, except that I can’t find it any more! If anyone knows where it is let me know.

Another great thing is the Chalybeate Spring in the Pantiles area of the town (see pic below). Very strong taste of iron in the water!

Drugs
Drugs
As with the drugs extracted from toads or mushrooms in days gone by, I believe modern-day drugs used for recreational purposes are evil.
My observation of those involved in recreational drugs:

Many people I have known have gone mad in the head due regular use of soft drugs and often cannot work again.

Deal in drugs because they think it looks good.

Dealers often lose more money than they gain, getting themselves in huge debt. (Usually because much of it is spent on fuel for their car and mobile phone credit for chasing up people who owe them money).
Although I’m against drugs I am a strong believer in allowing people to have freedom to do what they want. I think that all recreational drugs should be legalised, that way it would all be in the open and people would realise how stupid they were as they see each other get screwed up by them.
Maybe then, those people who still wish to take them would use them in moderation like most take alchohol. Drugs would no longer be so related to crime. Apparently 90% of crime is drug related.

I don’t take drugs because am sure they would upset my mind. I have tried cannabis in small amounts on 3 seperate occasions but never like it. I tried mushrooms a few times, it was fun the first time but not much good the other times so I haven’t bothered since.
If I did drugs now, and I’m sure I wouldn’t, but if I did 
I would: 1) Only take them occasionally and only in a small amount, and 2) pay for them straight away like you would in a shop – never ‘on tick’, because most of the trouble is due to money owing rather than the drug itself!
